Application Lifecycle Management
The Ungaged flow estimator or UFLOW is a model based on the U.S. Geological Survey's Stream Stats program. This approach uses regional and watershed scale hydrologic properties (hydrologic zone, drainage area, average elevation, statistical precipitation events, etc.) to estimate unregulated statistical peak stream flows for small streams(i.e. 5-year flood, etc.). This is useful for water-resources planning and management, and for engineering design applications, such as the design of bridges and roadways over stream crossings.
The regression equations used by UFLOW are cited by each analysis/service and were originally developed by the U.S. Geological Survey.
